Why do they give us two hours with the most boring lecturer in the world at 9am on a Monday? He takes forever to say nothing, and talks to us like we're complete idiots. And his voice... he sounds exactly like Pontius Pilate from Monty Python's Life of Brian. "Welease Wodewick!" So at least I can laugh at him.
And why do so many people cough in lectures? I don't think I've coughed once. If they're that ill they can stay at home and stop transmitting their dirty fucking germs to everyone else.

WINDS ME RIGHT UP.

Other than that things are fine!

Just got back from my first archery session- I hated it because I hate being crap at stuff and I was obviouly crap at it because its my first try. The thing that pissed me off though was that they said I'm left eye dominant so I should shoot left-handed. I was going "I really don't think I'd feel comfortable doing that" but they insisted anyway, and I ended up with fucking bruises and bleeding where the string kept hitting my arm (even though I was wearing one of those stupid shield things) so then I said "no I'm doing it right-handed". Turned out much better that way, even though I found it hard to get the posture right and concentrate on aiming at the same time. And it put me in a bad mood, being crap at it. But I'm not going to get better if I stop going, so I'm going to carry on. Olympics 2012 here I come.

More customer service rantings [06 Oct 2006|03:54pm]
[ mood | angry ]

Getting fed up of my hair so decided to pop into a hairdressers as I was walking past, asked if they were open on Sunday which is apparently the most ridiculous question to ask in the world. I got a laughed at. Well I'm sorry, but I hardly ever go to hair salons and that is the fucking reason why. Why don't they open on Sundays then? They'd get loads of business! WHY DAMMIT!? And why couldn't she have just politely said no?

That's my day ruined now, I'll be in a bad mood for a good few hours.

I'm going to compile a list of people I want to kill, I've got 2 now:
1. People who work in PC World
2. Hairdressers

I was actually thinking of finding out that PC World woman's name and then going in there and opening with some kind of computer program that flashes "(INSERT NAME) IS A BITCH, DO NOT APPROACH HER OR LET HER SELL YOU ANYTHING. IN FACT IF YOU SEE HER GIVE HER A KICK FROM ME" up on the screen and blurts out loud music, and put it on all of the computers. Humiliation is more rewarding I think.

I need to learn to let things go, don't I. *sigh*

Grrr.. PC World [03 Oct 2006|08:42pm]
[ mood | aggravated ]

I went with my flatmate Maiya to PC World today to help her buy a laptop. We knew what one she was going to get so after 15 minutes of waiting for someone to serve us, this absolute bitch of a woman comes over and starts trying to sell us everything under the sun.
She was SO AGGRESSIVE it was unbelievable, plus the fact she fucking lied.

Her- "you don't get any word processing software or anti-virus software with it.. you do know that DONT YOU?"
Me- "So Microsoft Works and Norton don't come with it?"
Her- "No but I can sell you both together at a reduced price"
Me- "No thanks I use AVG and I've had no problems with it"
Her- "HAH! Well I'll see you in a couple of weeks then, its terrible!!!"
Me- "Well actually I've had it for nearly a year and its fine"
Her- "Well dont say I didnt tell you so! HAH!"

I wanted to kill her, for being so agressive and patronising to two 19 year old girls... I think she was taken aback by the fact that I actually know what I'm talking about. In the end we got the computer. I was fuming though and that bad mood stayed with me for the next 3 hours or so.

Turns out it does have MS Works and Norton!!! For fucks sake!! I'm glad I was there for Maiya as she would've been fucked over completely, especially the way they pressurise you. CUNTS, ABSOLUTE CUNTS.

Anyway I've just about calmed down now.

[ mood | cheerful ]

I just had the BEST time at a club... well it's called a club but by my standards its a bar, which is even better. They had live music and the band was amaaazing, there was a crazy guy dancing and he was making me laugh so much, so I decided to dance with him crazily and we all had a good laugh about it. Then there was some old man dancing along with us young folk so I danced with him for a bit. It was the first time I'd danced and actually enjoyed it, rather than thinking 'I'm supposed to be enjoying this, look happy'. And I'm not even totally mashed either.

Met this German guy called Tom, he was nice and he made it so obvious that he liked me... I find it a bit scary when guys are so forward but at the same time, when guys are too shy it annoys me. I guess it'll never be a happy medium. Anyway he's quite charming and I will be seeing him again, we said we'd go to the indie night there on friday. It's so great being literally a minute away from a club because there's no worries about getting back.

Oh dear.. he just text me wishing me good dreams, haha. I won't text back.. don't want to seem too keen, that only eggs them on. Not that I don't like him, but you've gotta play hard to get. On the plus side though, he's a law postgrad so when he's a barrister I'll be RICH! MWAHAHA!!! Ok, thinking too far ahead!

Better get to sleep, got lecture at 9am.

I gave blood today and felt really weak and puffed out when I was walking back.. that's never happened before. So I had a nice fat steak when I got home to replace the iron. Felt fine after that. Damn the washing up, damn it all the way to hell.
I just let Maiya- my flatmate- watch a dvd on my laptop whilst I milled around cleaning stuff up. I've accumilated so much paper over the last few days. We're going to make borsch at some point... thats a really hearty russian soup. It's a kind of word that makes you want to shout it... "BORSCH!" in vague eastern European accent.

More importantly- NEW QI IN 5 MINUTES!
Must dash!

At 8am this morning the fire alarm went off, so me and everyone else ran outside... most people were in their pjs, some people (like me) had forgotten to put shoes on. I mean, I remembered to lock my door but forgot to put on shoes. What a tit. So it was raining outside and they made us walk up the road, my feet were in agony. Turns out it was only a drill- BASTARDS! Still, I managed to get to sleep til 12 :-)
This is the first day I haven't had much to do, I plan to buy some bread and some clothes and maybe give blood. Tomorrow I'm going to Dartmoor with a bunch of freshers and Sunday is the big 'squash' (freshers fayre)- yay freebies!
And then Monday lectures! I can't wait, I've got all my new stationary and stuff, its like starting a new year of school.
That pub crawl yesterday was a bit crap, we only managed 3 pubs then everyone needed to get back for dinner. Stupid catered people. I was getting along great with some people, then they went and I was stuck with these 3 girls and 2 boys who started a conversation about beer, and how girls drinking it isn't attractive.. while I was sitting there drinking one. I don't think they'd noticed because they were basically ignoring me anyway so I went after that.
The girl from Kazakhstan who I live with is starting to get on my nerves, she's here a lot because she's only at college 3 days a week and she always wants to do stuff with me when I'm tired and want to chill out.. she wanted to watch these crappy DVDs last night that I'd never heard of but I wanted to watch Extras, obviously. So I told her that and she goes "can I watch with you?" and I was like "NO MY TV ISNT BIG ENOUGH" because it's on my laptop and the picture is tiny otherwise it jumps... I didn't want to mention the fact that she would not get it at all.
Right I'm starving I need a sandwich, I'm off to Tesco for bread and ham.

Ellooo, only me! [27 Sep 2006|01:01pm]
Finally I have internet access.. well, I'm using the wifi in the library and my laptop is on battery so I've only got 35 minutes remaining. When I get back I'm going to try and get it set up in my room, there's been problems with it but I was expecting that.

Well, my room is nice and big, if a bit noisy, but I've got earplugs. The shops are about a minute away and there's some really cool independant shops here too.

Freshers week has been soo hectic so far, I've been on the go non stop and I can feel myself coming down with the dreaded fresher's flu already. Everyone's sooooo posh here... ok well not everyone but a majority are, I've met loads of people who went to private/public schools (whatever you wanna call them) and most of the guys look like the typical posh boys... y'know, quite stocky, big lips, lots of thick hair (usually with blonde highlights) and the plum in the mouth. They're nice to look at but they're all clones, its quite scary.

Had my archaeology intro day yesterday, everyone's really friendly and we all went for a walk and to the pub. I can't actually wait to get started on lectures.. hehe, I sound like such a geek, but it's great here because you get to be a geek and nobody bats an eyelid!

Today I plan to have a relaxing day, I need to buy a load of stationary and a couple of clothes, and then I'm going to buy a nice big steak for dinner to fend off my oncoming illness... and then I'm meeting up with the ArcSoc in the Ram Bar for drenks! Won't go too mad though, got to save some of my liver for the 'Historic Ale Trail' tomorrow.. which is basically just a pub crawl.

Anyway I'll have a chance to read everyone's journals when (if) I get my internet working later. Hope everyone's ok. Byeeeee xxx

My last day at home (for a while) [22 Sep 2006|01:13pm]
[ mood | energetic ]

Ok, this is weird! I'm moving to Exeter tomorrow, and am frantically packing. Well, I'm taking a break at the moment, obviously. I had one of those dreams last night where I'd forgotten to pack stuff- how annoying are those dreams?
It's raining, ugh.
I'm shocked and delighted that all my clothes fitted into one suitcase. There's loads of little bits and bobs to fit in places though. BEHHH!

Has anyone used Yahoo Answers before? It's quite good, you earn points for answering peoples questions. Don't know what the points count towards but meh. Anyway I asked a perfectly reasonable question on there:

kimbo72: Can you recommend a good minicab company in Exeter? I'm moving there to university and I would like to know what minicab firms are the most efficient/cheapest, because as I'm living off-campus I'll no doubt need a taxi home from a drunken night!

And the answer I got in return?

If you want to come here to get drunk, stay away we"ve already got enough drunken students thank you.

LOL!

Thoughts and meme [17 Sep 2006|11:43pm]
[ mood | worried ]

I just looked at the modules and stuff for my course and had a "what the fuck am I doing" moment. A "there's no way I can do this work, I'm in over my head" moment. Because up until now all I had thought about was making friends and freshers week, but it's just dawned on me that I'm on a course for 3 years and I'll actually be expected to work and be intellectual for quite a lot of the time. Now I'm scared.

Lighten the mood with a meme:

1. What's your favourite line from a movie, and why?
Well, its would have to be "FUCK-A-DOODLE-DO!" just because its the first thing to come to mind.

2. Who's your favourite villain from a movie, and why?
Ed Rooney from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, because he's hilarious.

3. Name one movie everyone else loves that you hate.
Pretty much anything by Quentin Tarantino, Pulp Fiction for example.

4. Name one movie everyone else hates that you love.
I dunno, I think most people like the films I love... but the one which still causes controversy is Monty Python's Life of Brian.

5. What's your favourite Pixar film, and why?
Toy Story because it was groundbreaking and it's there's still a 'wow' factor even now.
